FAQ's and Good Things to Know

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND GOOD THINGS TO KNOW:

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

Most orders are shipped by USPS Priority Mail within 1-3 business days of receiving cleared payment in full and will arrive within 2-3 business days from the date shipped. You should receive tracking information and updates on your order so you can easily know when to expect delivery! 

WHAT IF SOMETHING I ORDERED IS OUT OF STOCK?

If we happen to be temporarily out of stock on one of the items that you ordered we will contact you to let you know when it will be available and offer you the option to select another variety, wait until item is ready, or receive a refund for the item.  Monthly Promotion Boxes are the exception to that as they available in a limited quantity on a first come, first serve basis and are available for a limited time only; each month brings a new great deal!

DO YOU OFFER FREE OR DISCOUNTED SHIPPING?

YES!  Orders over $50 have FREE Priority Shipping!  Shipping for orders under $50 is only $6 as we pick up some of the cost to make sure your orders arrive safely and quickly with Priority Mail also... we think it is a great value that works well for everyone!

WHERE CAN I FIND THE OTHER PRODUCTS MADE BY SUNNYBROOK GARDENS LTD?

So many years in business has given us the opportunity to create recipes we love for many different all natural and vegan friendly skin care products such as Lip Balms and Lava Lip Glosses, Body Butters, Beard and Body Oils, Sea Clay Body Mud, Organic Sugar Scrubs, Solid Lotion Bars, Solid Perfumes, Dry Shampoos, and Beard & Mustache Waxes too!  Recently, to be able to keep up with making our soaps to meet demand (thank you!) we have retired some of these products from our website.  Our Etsy Store may have some of them listed for sale, but generally they are only available by special request or as special editions that we make exclusively for our Monthly Promotion Boxes.

DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING METHODS OTHER THAN USPS PRIORITY MAIL?

No, we really love USPS Priority Mail because orders arrive quickly (within 2-3 business days) and tracking and insurance of up to $50 are included.  Our products are crafted with care and we want them to arrive to you in great condition without having to spend excessive time in transit exposed to temperature extremes and prolonged travel.  While we have thought about offering other options, truthfully we have found that Priority Mail is still the best option for your purchase and offers the best value for making sure your order arrives quickly and in great shape!

DO YOU SHIP TO CANADA OR OTHER INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS?

Currently we ship only to addresses within the United States of America.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; thank you for understanding!

I LIVE NEAR KENT, OHIO TOO!  CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER?

Sure, I'd love to meet you!  Our hours are by appointment only so please contact us to arrange a time to pick up your order or ask about local delivery too.

DO YOU OFFER GIFT WRAPPING AND GIFT NOTES?

Yes!  We aim for all of our orders to arrive beautifully presented so they are fun to receive whether it is a gift for someone else or a gift for you!  If you would like us to include a handmade gift card with a handwritten note just let us know (by contacting us or leaving a note at checkout) what you would like it to say we will joyfully do that also!  Sending gifts is one of our favorite things to do and there is no extra charge either!

DO YOU OFFER PERSONALIZED OR CUSTOM IMPRINTING ON YOUR PRODUCTS?

Yes!  Many of our products are easily customized with your name and/or logo for business thank you gifts, school fundraisers, church retreats, bridal and baby showers, wedding favors and so much more!  We like doing these too and do not charge an artwork or setup fee; there may be a minimal additional cost for extra packaging depending on the item and finished look.  Contact us with your thoughts and ideas and we will be glad to work with you to achieve what you have in mind. Custom orders usually have a lead time of 7-10 business days, depending on the item and request.

DO YOU HAVE FREE SAMPLES?

We happily include a free Surprise Gift with your purchase!  We take care to select something we think you will like to try and we hope you will enjoy it too!  If you would like to sample a product before purchasing we offer many mini and small sizes that are reasonably priced for sampling before committing to a larger size.  Plus we love doing giveaways and contests so check back often for your chance to win some great products to try for free!

DO YOU WHOLESALE TO BUSINESSES AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS SCHOOLS AND CHURCHES?

Yes!  We are happy to offer wholesale pricing to your large or small business or non-profit organization. Please contact us with your interest and we will be glad to work with you! 

WHAT IS THE SHELF-LIFE OF THE PRODUCTS?

Our soaps are handcrafted with natural ingredients and are generally recommended to be best when enjoyed within one year from date of purchase though they are safe to use for long past that time.  Proper storage out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place will also prolong the freshness and quality of the products.  For our special edition products included in our Monthly Promotion Boxes and by special request, some such as our Freshening Sprays and Dry Shampoos will have a longer shelf life when stored properly whereas other products such as our Body Oils and Organic Sugar Scrubs once opened are best when used within a shorter period of time as the oils can lose their freshness at a faster rate once they have been opened.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY PRODUCT HAS MELTED OR IS FROZEN WHEN IT ARRIVES?

One of the reasons we like shipping with USPS Priority is that your order will arrive quickly without a lot of unnecessary time spent in transit and exposed to temperature extremes.  That being said, sometimes the weather conditions are unavoidable and some of our all natural products such as Solid Lotion Bars, Body Butters, Lip Balms, Solid Perfumes, and Beard & Mustache Waxes, may melt when exposed to temperatures above 90°F.  If exposed to extreme cold some products (especially Freshening Sprays) may arrive frozen. Thankfully the product will not be ruined and once it has either thawed or solidified by returning to room temperature (or spent a short time in the refrigerator if it was melted) the product should not be any worse for the wear. Although the body butters may be somewhat more solid and less whipped than originally intended.  Should you have any questions when your order arrives, please let us know.  We do our best to make sure your items arrive in as great of condition as when we sent them!

WHAT TYPE OF ESSENTIAL OILS DO YOU USE?

The essential oils that we use are truly something special! They are from trusted and longstanding companies that produce only the highest quality therapeutic grade essential oils. While we realize that there is no "official" therapeutic grade, it is still a good way of expressing that the oil is of high quality since essential oils are not all created equally and we do not use cheap, poor quality oils. You can't make a quality product with inferior ingredients and again, not all essential oils are created equally...  Essential oils are truly amazing and we urge you to learn more about them!

WILL YOUR PRODUCT HELP MY PROBLEM GET BETTER?

We love using our all natural products and hope to encourage you to live a healthier life by choosing chemical free products and food too; what we put in and on our bodies is so important to maintaining our health!  However, please remember that I am not a doctor and I do not make any claims that any of my products or my opinions will cure, treat or prevent any condition or disease and they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent diseases; please ask your doctor if you have medical questions. Please read the ingredients listed if you have allergies and discontinue use if redness or irritation should occur.  

DO YOUR SOAPS CONTAIN LYE?

While lye (sodium hydroxide for our cold process soaps and potassium hydroxide for our liquid soap) is used to create the soap, there is no lye remaining in the finished soap-- it has all combined with the organic vegetable oils and/or butters in a process called saponification.  That is why you will often see ingredients listed as "saponified oils" since they have gone through the soap making process and have been transformed into soap... it's pretty amazing!  Also while the technique used to make soap may be similar to what was used in the past for Grandma to make her laundry soap, we are fortunate to have high-quality equipment for measuring as well as the ability to use high quality ingredients too; this isn't your Grandma's lye soap but boy would she have liked it if it was!

DO YOU OFFER PERSONALIZED OR CUSTOM SCENTS AND FLAVORS?

Yes!  We are fortunate to have a wide variety of high-quality, all natural scents and therapeutic essential oils as well as organic herbs and spices and welcome your custom orders.  There may be an additional charge for some items depending upon the cost of the essential oil used (sandalwood, amber and jasmine for instance are all very precious and expensive oils).  Some products such as lip balms and glosses, lotion bars and soaps will also have a minimum purchase quantity but since we handcraft our products in small batches, this amount is usually very minimal.  Custom orders usually have a lead time of 7-10 business days, depending on the item and request; all custom scented soaps have a minimum lead time of 4 weeks (good soap just can't be rushed... thanks for understanding!)  Contact us and we will be happy to work with you to create something especially for you, your special event or as a thoughtful gift too!

THE LABEL ON MY PRODUCT LOOKS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE IN THE PICTURE?

Well, we've never really gotten this question, but it is possible.  I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to labeling and am always trying to improve the look of them!  Plus we take all of our own product pictures and enjoy taking product pictures with our flowers in the background... this can be somewhat limiting though since we live in Ohio and there are not a great quantity of days that make for great photo opportunities!  I hope you will forgive me if the picture shown is a bit different than the one you receive.  If you are concerned about this please let me know before ordering and I'll be glad to send you a current (if not quite website worthy) photo! And until then please know I'm working on it... and just when I get it finished I'll probably tweak something again! :)
